While doing a tasting at Tao DT, there was some wonderful conversation between the client, myself and Cheryl, who is one of their great special events team members. Afterward, Cheryl said something to me that stuck with me so I thought I would share it with you all.
“It was great to sit and get to know all of you guys as well. What a nice group of people, you can tell you guys have been working together for a while and have a trusting relationship with each other. It’s very nice to see – especially now with all the computer/phone/technical stuff out there that actually takes away from our industry of being hospitable.”
Technology has certain helped the event planning industry in may ways but it does make me think about how it has hurt the industry as well. In this day an age where people go on dates and just look at their phones the entire time, has technology hurt the hospitality industry well? What do you think?
